Karla Frye for City Council at Large!
I am writing this letter to recommend Karla Frye as a strong candidate for City Council at Large. Full disclosure: I am working on her campaign.
Ms. Frye is a retired school psychologist from the Zanesville and Maysville school districts and serves on the city’s Zoning Appeals Board. She has also served as a board member for Big Brother Big Sisters, the Muskingum County Community Foundation, and the Zanesville Farmers Market.
In the Times Recorder’s article of October 14, “Meet the four candidates competing for three at-large seats on Zanesville City Council,” all four candidates noted their interests (and for the incumbents, their accomplishments) in the continued development of downtown and the infrastructure of the city.
However, according to the article, only Ms. Frye spoke about an interest in expanding housing development within the city and expanding recreational opportunities for low- and middle-income children in the city.
At the recent candidates’ forum at McIntire Library, Mayor Don Mason’s stated that one of his goals is to continue supporting the development of new and rehabilitated housing in our city. Ms. Frye would be able to hit the ground running on promoting the growth of affordable housing in Zanesville.
Her interest in increasing recreational opportunities for low- and middle-income children also includes developing new artistic, cultural, and educational opportunities for them as well.
City Council at Large members represent the entire city, and I firmly believe that Karla Frye’s background and stated goals make her the strongest among the four candidates for a seat on City Council at Large.
You may rest assured that she will represent and serve all of Zanesville’s citizens to the best of her abilities.
Respectfully submitted,
